THE MANDATORY LIFE

IN SOME CULTURES WIVES ARE LOOKED AS THEIR HUSBAND’S PROPERTIES. BESIDES, IN SOME REGIONS RULES HELP THIS BELIEF PROPAGATED, FOR INSTANCE IT IS CLEARLY MENTIONED THAT THE MAN OWNS HIS WIFE AND SHE IS NOT EVEN ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE HOUSE WITHOUT HER HUSBAND’S PERMISSION.

REGARDLESS OF THE REASON FOR SUCH A VIEW, EITHER RELIGION OR TRADITION, THE VICTIM OF THIS BELIEF IS UNDOUBTEDLY THE WIFE. ALTHOUGH IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN UNDERSTANDABLE FOR THE WOMEN TRAINED AND GROWN WITH THIS VIEW BY THEIR FAMILIES, IT REVEALS ITS WORST SIDE WHEN THE BRIDE IS A GIRL FORCED TO MARRY WITH A MUCH-OLDER-TRADITIONAL-MAN.

“THE MANDATORY LIFE” IS THE STORY OF THESE GIRLS IN WHICH I HAVE TRIED TO PICTURE THE GIRL IMPRISONED IN THE DEPRESSING ATMOSPHERE OF THE HOUSE, WITH HER WINGS FASTENED, CRUSHING HERSELF TO DOORS FROM ONE ROOM TO THE OTHER.

THE LOCATION SELECTED AND DECORATED FOR THIS PROJECT WITH A VIEW TO INDUCING JUST SOME MOMENTS OF HER WHOLE LIFE.
